Immunoglobulins

Antibodies ” immunoglobulins  😎 ” are protein molecules produced by our immune system to detect and attack the foreign weird antigens :alien: ,

” Antigen – antibody ” reactions are very famous in biological , medical & analytical fields,

So it’s important to fully understand the basics of immunology 🙂

this post is concerned with memorizing the different types of immunoglobulins ” Ig “s 😉

Further details about their nature and functions could be discussed later in upcoming posts ..

the Original name of this little hero is Captain Tsubasa (キャプテン翼) >> Japanese Manga cartoons rock 😎

but in Egypt we have a translated version of this cartoon where the Hero’s name is Maged :happy:

this word ” Maged ” sums up all immunoglobulin types in a nice way :

>>> IgM , IgA , IgG , IgE , IgD <<<

Immunoglobulins are made of Heavy and light chains ,.. the heavy ones determine each type :

another cool thing that ” M–A–G– E–D ” offers , is an easy memorization of the shapes of Immunoglobulins 🙂

M = 5 units

A  = 1 , 2 or 3 units … Most often 2 >>> and it’s letter No. 2 in the word also 😉 “

G E D = 1 unit each

Mmmm ..

if we mix the letters again … make the word Damge >>> Damage :silly:

that’s the Antibodies job after all 😎 ! … causing damage to foreign bodies & prevent them from damaging our own bodies 🙂
